When you choose Becker Studios, you will work directly with our senior employees. Our key personnel include:
Michael Johannsen joined Becker Studios in 1991 and became president in 1995. In his work, he brings his extensive design, estimating, supervisory, and engineering skills. Prior to joining Becker Studios, he worked at such acclaimed Chicago theaters as Steppenwolf and Northlight, and at Virginia Stage Company in Norfolk VA and Redgrave Theater in Surry, U.K. Plus, Mike has taught theatrical design at College of DuPage and the University of Michigan. Mike holds an M.F.A. from Ohio University and earned his B.A. at North Central College.

Tony Deters, Production Manager, brings more than 30 years of experience to Becker Studios. Turning professional in his teen years to build sets for touring dance troops, he has worked as a photo stylist and in visual merchandising, and has constructed sets for Broadway productions, Hollywood movies, amusement parks, and much more. Tony holds a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute.
